Received my email this morning notifying that SR6827 was about to be dispatched. Got onto this thread and read that this was indeed a downgrade due to ordered item being out of stock.
Saw the above within 10 mins of it being posted. Rang Empire who informed me that a substitute had been issued due to stock shortage. I quoted malc1603, the lady checked the stock level and hey presto SX7366 on its way, due Tuesday.
Fingers crossed.0 -
I had an e-mail this morning saying that they have despatched SR6827 and free gift of AB0906. After reading the last post I have just rung Empire. Definately no SX7366 in stock. However having looked up the SR6827 on Amazon I am pleased with it as it is a gift for my daughter who is not yet 10, so does not need to be excellent spec, its good for her needs. Also a free pair of binoculars too, I think she will be well pleased with that. Its already with the courier so Ill wait and see. Im hoping the free gift is the dinner set as I could do with a new everyday set. Still a good buy for £24.99 so thanks to the OP.0

If its the dinner set with code pl2474, its plastic plates with a set of cutlery with yellow handles. Just so you dont get your hopes up too high.0

The 24 piece dinner set on my delivery ticket for the SX7366 is a AT0926. Not due for 4-5 weeks though.
It also says I'm getting an 'AW05 WELCO' whatever that is, code AB0906.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

I think 'AW05 WELCO' is their ironically titled leaflet 'Welcome to hassle free shopping' .0 -
I think AWOL WELCO is the catalogue that is included in the bag with your camera - so don't expect anything great! You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

Hehehehehehe!!!
Not expecting much from the 24 piece dinner set either...Greek plate smashing party anyone???
I did only want the Concord 5040 and that was what arrived!
Thanks again to the OP!
A bit more expensive than last year's £19.98 HP 4MP camera from Argos (remember that???) and the £19.99 HP 7450 printer from Index, but still a bargain!!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Still got the HP printer - sold the camera though! Much better bargain than this Concord thing. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

I received notification that empire had despatched the SR6827. I have sent them an email whether this substitute is the same spec or higher than my original ordered item SX7366 (which was £44.99 minus £20 discount = £24.99.) My email to them was along the lines of:-
"The catalogue number SR6827 on lookup on your website does not indicate any information regarding the specification of the Digital Camera. Any substitute item should be at least or higher specification of the original order. The SX7366 is a 5.1MegaPixel resolution camera what is the resolution of the SR6827? Also the price of the SR6827 on your website is £34.99 and is the substitute for SG7142. Therefore I suspect SR6827 is a lower specification. Can you please confirm that
a) the specification of SR6827 is the same or higher than SX7366
b) the price charged for SR6827 would be £34.99 minus £20 discount being £14.99
You have charged me £24.99 for goods that should have been £14.99"
I have the screen capture of SR6827 at £34.99 as evidence.
I'll wait to see what they reply with.0 -
think you may be waiting quite a while for a reply - I sent my email several days ago and have heard nothing0
