We've got our lads weekend in oct too and we've all had to promise to behave etc etc, the irony is ive seen how women behave when they are on a girls weekend away and they are a nightmare compared to blokes.

I know Edinburgh well.. but cant go back there any time soon... Bath is a brilliant place.. about 20 miles from my parents. Cotswolds is nice too.. am googling :)

I stayed in Edinburgh last week, Bath yesterday and nearly Cotswolds - in Oxford tomorrow. The Malmaison in Oxford is really fab; many of the rooms are converted from the original cells of the prison!! Lovely big bathrooms with freestanding baths; maybe you could start there and work your way into the Cotswolds :) Russells in Broadway is a really lovely place in a really lovely village - lots of gift shops and galleries to wander in and out of. Lygon Arms was a bit lacking when we stayed but I reckon they've finished their refurb now and the new rooms looked lovely. Such a shame about Edinburgh, it is a gorgeous city and I stayed in the most fab hotel at a really good price!

Europe I'd choose Milan - Lake Como. Soooo beautiful and romantic.

Oh, I'm an incredible girl by the way, so I should know :D;)

    love it

Awesome place.. It's been 12 years since I was last there. A town littered with indiscretions.. but the memories still make me smile ;-)

Hehe - thanks! Good advice, I shall check those places out on Google. Edinburgh is beautiful.. but a town full of ex girfriends.. I'm not going to tempt fate.. A trip starting with Oxford sounds fantastic.. Actually, if its gonna be sunny, I could swap my car for my cousins convertible.. He's been itching to borrow my car for ages, and I'll get much better fuel economy out of his.. which means more pennies to spend in a restaurant :)

Like the convertible idea. Friends did that actually; it was them we met up with in Broadway and stayed at the Lygon Arms. They ended up not giving the convertible back!'

    You'll love the Malmaison - I promise!

Why not Belfast? It's lovely here, modern, vibrant, excellent nightlife, fantastic shopping. The Crown Pub is fabulous, I could list loads of fantastic things, but, it's much better if you come over and find out for yourself. :D

Belfast is really on the up these days. There's great shopping, restaurants, bars (you really haven't been in a pub until you've been in the Crown), you could take in a show at the Grand Opera House, or go see a concert at the Waterfront Hall or Odyssey Arena. If you were going to be there for a few days, you could take a day trip to the Giant's Causeway on the beautiful north Antrim coast, or catch the train to Dublin even.

OOoh if its wintery take her to Stockholm! Its a fantastic city -great nightlife/ food/ galleries/lovely old town/ shopping- and SOOOOO romantic with all the snow & fairy lights! ( just reread your dates, might be a bit early for snow :( )

Yep just a bit early - the temp is still in the mid-teens and we're enjoying some nice autumn sunshine :) It could start heading down towards single figures next week.

How about Barcelona or any of the Italian cities,Venice,Florence,Pisa,Milan,Sorrento, all should be cheapish with ryanair and all beautiful.
  • I was going to suggest Barcelona too. Or how about Berlin that's a great city, there's a recent thread about it on here.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

  • Oh,you must take her up the aisle.

If she's that incredible get a ring on her finger before someone else does.
