Am thinking about getting the half price 3 mobile broadband offer via Quidco. I have checked the service reception in the area I am going to use it and its good. I am looking at getting this as opposed to getting a BT line & paying from broadband on top in my new house. I mostly use the internet for surfing, email and the bbc iplayer once a week. Was looking at going for the 5GB package for £7.50 a month.
Has anyone out there actually got this service? What are the pro's and con's?
Any coments much appreciated

Hi there,
I purchased this package a couple of month ago, I use it mainly like you (surfing, emails etcs) but have only downloaded BBC Iplayer once.
I barely use 1GB per month but noticed when I downloaded a 1hour programme from BBC Iplayer that took approx another 1 gb so you would need to be carefull if you download stuff. (and very slow at downloading)
It stated I was in a good area however I only have 1 - 2 bars out of 10 so be aware that coverage is not necessarily as good as they state.
I would say it isn't much different to my old sky broadband speed-wise but again it would depend what you were really using it for.
All in all I only subscribed to it to use when away from home, however I now use it 24-7 at home or away.
I think for £7.50 a month it is worth it, but again I suppose its what you are used to that matters.
I'm not technically minded but I hope this info is of use to you.
I also believe they have a 14 day money-back guarantee so you may be able to try it out and if it doesn't work to your satisfaction then you could possible return it (but you would need to check this out).
:-) :rolleyes:0 -
I have it, but not that same service - I have a PAYG one.
It's very good IMO, I've never had an issue connecting in the areas I've used it and mostly get good speeds as well. I bought it for my wife to use it on her laptop at work so she didn't have to use the public one at her company.
The only downside as far as I' concerned (and I'm being really picky here just to come up with something) is it's kinda like dialup in that you need to manually connect before surfing the net. Also it can occasinally take a while for the modem to respond when you plug it in.The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.
