I was shocked yesterday when I discovered that my local Lidl no longer sells the 2.5L tubs @£3.49 but has replaced it with a 1L tub @ £1.89 - an increase in unit price of nearly 36%. It wass not long ago that they increased the price from £2.99 to £3.49, an increase of nearly 17%. It's no longer the bargain that it was.0

Lidl....Crusti cheese pastries like straws but they do other shapes too. It said "butter" somewhere on the box & they were very buttery  scrumm-diddly-umpshuss & definitely on my list for the next visit. They were up by the check-outs & £1:19 a box.Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Slightly off-topic but just wondered have other people on this thread experienced what I've termed "Non-discount Supermarket Shock Syndrome" (or NSSS for short). The symptoms are a strange feelings of confusion (crazy store layout), claustrophobia (ie: "get me outta here, this stores too big") and a feeling everything is over-priced (I mean way overpriced by 30-50%), when in any of the national supermarket chains , like Tesco, etc..... Yet everyone is just walking around with their trolleys and baskets as if everythings normal. :rolleyes:0

If anyone from Aldi comes on this board. Please can we have the herrings in sauce that I buy when I am in Denmark. They are so gorgeous.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
