All sorts of other checklists etc can be found by a quick search on the internet...0 -
start packing early and if u are having a removal firm check the estimator knows what u are taking.our wagon was too small which proved to be a pain...........can someone look after your kids for the day as they may get a little excitedonwards and upwards0

I wouldn't pack early but I would clear the house of all rubbish. Go through all your cupboards, through the kids' clothing drawers etc and get rid of all excess baggage. Make sure that everything in the house has a place as when you do come to pack, everything is much more organised

If you need moral support and discipline to clear the place then the fly lady thread was great for that on the Old Style boardEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If you can afford it, get a proper removals company in - it's worth every penny.
Don't leave packing to the last minute, it takes ages. Make sure you label those boxes.0 -
... and get someone else to take the boys on moving day.......0

Definitely get someone to take the kids ( and pets, if you have any ) off your hands for the day.
Top tip - make sure you label all the boxes - Lounge, Kitchen, Tom's Bedroom, Mum's Bedroom, etc. Go to the new house the night before if you can ( or get there before the removal firm on the morning ), and put a sticky label on the door to each room - same again, Tom's Bedroom, Lounge ( may not be obvious to the removal men which is the lounge and which is the dining room ) etc. Then the men can put all the boxes in the right rooms by themselves, leaving you free to supply gallons of tea and biscuits.
On that note, make sure you've got a box of basics handy with you - tea, coffee, milk, toilet roll, a torch (for when the lights fuse and you haven't yet found where the fuse box is !), sandwiches or some cash to get some lunch, cleaning materials, etc.0
