Help first negative

Hi, wondered if anyone could help me.

I received my first negative recently when i sold an item to a chap, he emailed me after he purchased to ask loads of questions because he said he had spotted the item at the last minute and bidded. I answered all his questions no problem and the sale went ahead.

When he received the item he said that it didn't suit him and he woudl have liked to have seen more pictures on the advert and because of this he either wanted a refund or part of his money back if he had to keep the item.

I explained that he chose to bid at the last minute and that was the chance he took. Had he emailed me earlier i would have been happy to take more pictures and answer his questions fully like i had with other people.

He said this wasn't good enough and left me negative feedback. Obviously due to ebay changes i couldn't do the same for him.

Is there nothing i can do, it seems so unfair that this guy bids at the last minute, regrets it, trys it on and doesn't get his own way but i'm the only one that suffers for it!

Sorry frustrations aired, any suggestions most helpful but i'm guessing i'll just have to put it down to experience.

thanks
:)

Unfortunately, I don't think there's much you can do.

Put him on your blocked bidders list and forget about it!

Can't you leave a follow up to his feedback? Not sure if your still allowed to or not as I have stopped using Ebay as much now.
Thanks for any help and advice given

Unfortunately some people are never happy! I bet if you sent a tailor around to his house , measured him up, had the item made, he would still find cause to complain!!
It now seems the buyers have all the say and us sellers have none. In effect they can say what ever they want ,even if it's not true, without fear of reprisals!
I recently sold an item over £500 on e-bay, the guy never paid and I received one e-mail in 2 weeks!! (I must have sent about 6or7!) After several weeks I received my fees back and re-listed, but now there seems no point in leaving feedback as it can only be positive!!
I could write a few harsh words but as it's still positive it will probably never get read after several feedbacks later.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! it makes my blood boil!!

Actually there is no point doing that either as there is an option to get feedback removed if its a negative comment with a postive.

  • The people interested in your feedback rating will be those looking at any subsequent items you put on Ebay. So why not attach a note to all such adverts giving your side of the story regarding the negative feedback, being sure to include the M.O.B's Ebay username? That'll sort 'im!!

    I had this recently!
I have been a member for seven years and received neg feedback last week. Our sons sold over 20 DVD's which were perfect and only seen once. ALL of the fb was very very positive. I have always checked what I sell and pride myself on what I sell and my feedback reflected that.
Well, this ONE person said that my DVD was badly scratched and couldnt play! They did not contact me in any way and then neg'd me so I was very upset.
All i did was leave them a comment that they had not contacted me - you can do this following neg feedback. Also I left them feedback (albeit positive) I put that they should be avoided. I know EB could remove this but they have not done so far and it made me feel better!
I will now let my positive fb reflect me and ignore what is one of the morons on EB !!!
  • Just leave a reply to their negative explaining the guy bid at the last minute & then wanted the world. At least it will act as a warning to any future sellers.

I do check out a lot of my bidders feedback nowadays, just to see if they have any "previous form" as such. Ebay does make me rather paranoid nowadays.
  • Live with it and move on. It's only ebay!

You cannot leave a postive feedback with a negative comment, ebay will just remove it.
