I have recently split from my boyfriend of 9 years, we have 1 yr old son. but due to financial reasons we are still living at the same address but we are not living like a couple.
we have to keep the mortgage up and I can not do that on my own, working p/t only on 6k per year and he will not be able to pay his half if moves out into rented accommodation.
I really don't know what to do as he used to pay for everything and now i do, i also have to pay for child care cost.
Will i be able to get child tax cred and working tax creds?

ring the helpline for a form, if you can prove you are not living as a couple, you can claim in your own right.the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0

You can go ahead and apply for tax credits as a single claimant (remember to stop your old joint claim) but you need to be aware that in all likelyhood you will have your claim delayed whilst the Claimant Compliance section investigate your circumstances.
Can you not put your circumstances into the calculator on www.entitledto.co.uk to see what you will qualify for if he was not living with you. Remember also that if the child remains with you your ex will have to pay you 15% of his net income just for child maintenance. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
