My Desktop has died!

Options
Unfortunately L
I have had it for about 8/9 years, I have no software disks, it was in the sold as seen in the sale at pc world.
When I turn it on, the message comes up:

VMM32.VXD is required to run windows.

If this file is not in your path, you may need to reinstall
C:\>

Is this fixable?
Can some one help me?

Failing that I will just have to buy a new one:mad:

Go into dos (f8 at boot), and do a search for *.cab, the 98 files may be on the hard disk

while you are in there, try

    scanreg /restore

Thanks, i will try this when i get home, printed this page off and will read it later on too
