NatWest student account delays

I tried to apply for NatWest student acc. I had to apply twice sent off birth certificate and stuff second time still no replies, phoned up they didnt want to know, my advice is to avoid natwest.
Did you keep the reference number at the end of the application process? My advice is not to give up too easily and pop into the branch(cos they have two options, searching for the application under the sort code it would be opened under OR opening the account on the day you go in. John, did you get the documents back? Did you send originals? When did you apply(both occasions)?0
