I am just renewing my car insurance and using the comparison sites elephant.co.uk is looking the best. Is anyone with this insurance company and how good do you rate them.
All opinions appreciated before I make my final decision.

I'm with them on one of my cars at the moment.
They're part of the Admiral group. I always insure my cars with one of the Admiral companies.0 -
If your car is a bog standard car with no aftermarket additions then elephant is an OK way to go.
If you have aftermarket parts elephant will sometimes charge you an additional premium to insure the vehicle, but under the Standard Parts Replacement Clause they may not replace them in the event of an accident or damage. The man without a signature.0 -
No added extras to the car - just bog standard. Never realised that elephant was part of the admiral group. My current insurer is admiral so before i phoned them to challenge the price i wanted to do my homework first and get other quotes in. If they couldn't beat it then I would most probably go with elephant, but wanted opinions first about their service to the general public.0

I am looking to mod my car but I am waiting to renew my insurance at the end of November to a mod friendly insurer.
I am looking for a company that will replace the mods like for like incase of an accident. I have seen Adrian Flux, but are there any other insurance companies who offer this?"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

Sorry but I can't help you there. Been out of the General Insurance market for too long. I think that all companies in the Admiral Group: Admiral, Hastings, Elephant, Diamond and Bell Direct use the Standard Parts Replacement Clause.
Flux will definitely have a scheme for modded cars but check their charges for admin work as they can be high. The man without a signature.0 -
My brother uses Greenlight Insurance for his modified car, so you could also try them.0

Hastings is not part of the Admiral group!0 -
I phoned Admiral this morning re: my car insurance quote and after they offered me their very best price I then explained that I had been offered a better price from elephant.co.uk. On hearing this they asked me for the quote details and after putting me on hold for a minute or two come back and offered me the same price!
So a very big thank you to tinkerbell84 and vikingaero for advising me that elephant were part of the same group because it saved me even more money.....keep up the good work!!0 -
I usually just switch to whichever of the Admiral companies gives the best price. I don't bother getting them to match it!0
