Are these Bank accounts safe?

I recently put the proceeds of my house sale in various bank accounts, but am now worried that I may not be able to go to the FSA and reclaim my money should any of them go bust! My banks are: Abbey, HSBC, Tesco online, Sainsburys online, Nationwide, Yorkshire Building Society, Bradford and Bingley. Could anybody give me their thoughts on these Banks please? Are these banks a safe bet? I read somewhere on the internet that I would find it hard to claim my money back from the FSA if I banked with the Abbey as it was an overseas bank. Thanks a million.

You cannot go to the FSA if they go bust anyway. The FSA is the regulator only.Could anybody give me their thoughts on these Banks please?
They are all banks and building societies. Are these banks a safe bet?
Yes. B&B is the weakest but it is not expected to remain in that position with a white knight expected to step in at some point.I read somewhere on the internet that I would find it hard to claim my money back from the FSA if I banked with the Abbey as it was an overseas bank.
You need to change your internet sites. a) FSA dont pay any money back b) Abbey is owned by Santander but that has no impact on the FSCS deposits protection scheme.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
