Infant meals on BA

Are you planning on taking a britax car seat and hoping to fit it into the bassinet?
I thought that you could only take car seats on board if you had paid for a seat and the bassinets were meant for the babies on their own.
BA have a specially designed Britax seat which is basically their bassinet (not a car seat) and fits into the bulkhead. It means that older infants have somewhere to sit.
I think we'll just play it by ear - maybe see at check-in if our request for a meal has been met and if not stock up or share ours!0 -
where are u flying to? if you dont want to taste the stuff etc etc then buy it airside from boots...u going from heathrow? double check they have one airside at T5 I imagine they do and maybe ring their customer services to see what they stock.
I would do as someone else suggested and buy some jars or something for the journey home plus maybe some fruit and other snacks.....some countries do not have very good airside shops (usa being some of the worse)
will your little one be able to fit in a one of the sky cots? I have worked for a few airlines on check in and generally the kids needed to be under 10mths unless BA have a better option these days.0 -
If you do turn up at check in and they say that your requested meal will be onboard don't take it as guaranteed. I was cabin crew for 11 years and there were dozens of occasions when ordered meals were not onboard.
May be worth a trip to Boots airside at the airport just to make sure you have some supplies just incase the meal isn't there.
When I was cabin crew bassinets were normally only suitable for younger children but perhaps BA have changed things.:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

I have travelled on many airlines for many years with the kids. Mine are now 6 and 4 and have been back and forth to the states where we live for part of the year about 17 times now as kids.
Yes if your child is over 2 they will ahev a seat as you will have had to pay for one. If they are under 2 then of course you do not need to pay for a seat and they will have your lap and you will almost certainly be placed in teh bulkead and given the air car seatMuch better than the Virgin fruit box
anyway the stewardess arent that arsed when it comes to dishing out grub. I find that what I did when ours were under two was change either my wifes or my meal to a childs meal. They bring thouse around first and you give that to the nipper. Then they do the normal meal service and you will then get one for yourself.
In all teh flights this has always happened to us.
Good luck!Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!
