distance between hob and hood?

is there an 'ideal' gap? i guess the hood will come with it in the instructions but wanted to know before i start looking as am worried the hoods with adjustable chimney heights wont look that great

Personally I think it depends how tall you are. Our fitter set the distance between 75 and 80cm but as I am very tall I was having to bend down to avoid hitting my head on the hood, which was ridiculous. Although it is now very high at 107cm I can now cook in comfort. I would suggest that you experiment with the ideal height for you and your family by roughly holding it in place prior to the final fit.0

Recently fitted a chimney style one. The instructions said a minimum of 750 if gas or 650 if electric.0
