Internet Pages failing to load.....

Options
Hi there, not sure if this is the correct thread, hope so?

I am having trouble loading certain pages on the internet, they range from transferring funds on my bank site to selling an item on Ebay.

The page appears to be loading but just never seems to get there, I get a blank pages with the 'timer bar' at the bottom which only ever gets to about half way (I hope this make sense........)

It appears to be the same pages that cannot load and this has been happening for about a week.

Can anyone help please, thanks :-)

Ok starting with the basics, what web broswer are you using and which version (e.g. Internet Explorer 6.0).

What security software do you have installed: antivirus, firewall etc

Might also help if you tsay what kind of internet connection you have - ADSL, cable or dial up.

Ok, you would be using Internet Explorer then.

Google have just released a very fast new web browser called chrome.
    www.google.com/chrome

Or Firefox, that is considered great by almost everyone.
    www.mozilla.com/firefox

Basically, you want anything BUT Internet Explorer.

I would REALLY advise against using chrome. I believe they (for now) have security issues (And loads of other issues!)
Try firefox and see how you get on

I've installed Chrome and its not running that well for me. I'm sticking with Firefox for now.
  • Firefox is good, Opera is better and Chrome is dreadful.

Firefox is generally SAFER that IE. ESPECIALLY if you combine it with the NOSCRIPT plugin which stops anything nasty from getting on your hardrive (Unlike IE). Theres no worries of using it for internet banking (So long as you dont have any spyware or suchlike on your computer!)
