How about making a small notebook of why he is such a great dad?

They could do it on the computer.

We're doing the vouchers too. Also, getting little gift box templates of the net to package them in.

It's a lot more time consuming and so much harder than popping out to the shops .... but like the barclays ad says ... the results are priceless :D

we've set a limit to what we will spend per person in the shops (something that we each requested - so no surprise there:rolleyes: ) and then we have to make each other personal gifts (which will be fun!).
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

have a look at the boots advantage machine, there are vouchers to print out for a free mini trevor sorbie or toni and guy miniture - these are also on 3 for 2 - I got 3 for £1.59, but if you are brave check how many vouchers you can print and see if you get three for £0!

Thanks Elona that's a great idea!
They've sort of changed it a bit now and turned it into a "10 things why I love you" list. Bless!

    This is a great idea!

Just mentioned it to hubby (not exactly an MSE'er) and we are going to do your stocking idea this year.

Mind you - as he is not an MSE'r, I think he won't even be able to find me a stocking for less than £20!!!!

my dh was horrified when i said we should set a budget of £5 each as we r skint with toddler & new baby. said he couldnt possibly think of anything. (usually i get thorntons continentals. will prob end up with a small box of said choccies!!) i told him to read festive fivers so could be interesting. anything that requires thought is no good for him i'm afraid - he is currently having a nap after dealing with new baby last night (i was awake but ceasarian scar makes it impossible to bend & get up at mo!!) - he had an extra hour & half sleep while i got up with 3 year old but he still tired "poor thing." luckily baby asleep & DS amusing himself. oops - didnt mean this to turn into a moan!! sorry!

    Toothbrush
    Mini shower gel or soap
    Underwear
    Funky stationary/pens
    Gloves
Handcream (yes, men use it too!)
    Lipsalve
    Chopsticks
An orange...splash out on a chocolate orange if you have the budget left (and chocolate is ALWAYS useful:rotfl:)

Sorry, jsut re-read the original post & now realize this is exactly NOT what you wanted. Oops:o

    hi,
i know this thread has kind of got hijacked by cheap things to put in a stocking, which perhaps wasn't the idea, but since the damage is done...

how about a naff novelty christmas tie from pound shops. will be worn on the day, and possibly every year afterwards. if it lights up and plays a tune, all the better.

i got a birdhouse and stand from the local 99p shop - probably wont fit in a stocking though!

inflatable bath pillow (was hello kitty which i don't think bloke will appreciate)

sheet of novelty magnets for frige (I've bought monsters inc ones before although the selection yesterday was limited to sabrina the teenage witch and the hulk, but wilkinsons has jungle ones and a cat that you can dress up with different magnets)

99p shop also had the AA 1995 guide to days out/best pubs etc books. bargain!

small wooden/metal puzzles to keep them amused for 15 mins

a small selection of crystals (around 30-99p each) with a guide to what each one means/doees (eg rose quartz for love) possibly better to give to a girl, but i think my bloke appreciated it.

i also got a whole box of marshmallow ducks. just kind of cute really...

oh, and don't forget some chocolate coins or a choccy santa :)

Me and my husband sent a limit of £10 for xmas and between £5-£10 for valentines day then it is wedding anniversary and then my husband birthday in just over a month. So that is why we keep the amounts so low.

And for christmas I buy my husband things like a new comb. Shaving gel/oil/foam. Choccies and lot so silly but useful things like that. Makes you very creative but then I know what I am getting as I bought it all earlier on this year and got him to give me the money :rotfl:

    Yours
