Bathroom tap not working

Hi All,
I've had a problem for a while now with my bath hot tap. When you open the tap, it only trickles out and eventually stops.
I've looked on the internet and it says to put a piece of hose pipe across the kitchen pipes and turn then both on, and then turn the hot taps on in the bathroom. I couldn't find hose to cover my kitchen taps so I used a hose pipe connector that goes over the taps and used hose clips.
Still doesn't work.
If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated,
Cheers

could be your washer split gets warm blocks tap0

I agree with Bronco, sounds like a washer problem. If a washer has been fitted which was suitable for cold water it is likely that the hot water has caused the washer to soften, which causes the leak, and then it swells up, causing the stoppage. Try changing the washer but make sure it is suitable for high temperatures.0

Could be an air lock or the washer in the tap.
What sort of hot water system do you have, gravity fed (tank in the loft and hot water tank) or mains pressure.
Also, does the hot water in the kitchen and bathroom sinks work ok?0 -
The kitchen tap worked fine until recently, the tap has to be gradually opened until on full then it's fine. It does start off very slow though.
All posts appreciated.
Sorry, it is gravity fed, the tank is in the loft and feeds into the tank in the livingroom above the kitchen.Money is like manure; it's not worth a thing unless it's spread around encouraging young things to grow.
