Fitted wardrobes

We ahve fitted wardrobes and the wheels on one of the doors needs replacing. We have asked at a DIY store and they have said that we need to contact the builders of the house (our house is 6 years old) and ask them to provide us with the fitters details. Any guidance as to where we can get them from, or do we really have to go through the developers?
Thanks

I assume you have no idea who manufactured the doors or what kind of gaurantee you have on fixtures and fittings. I would have thought that you might have a call on the goods not lasting a reasonable time or is it wear and tear. First call will have to be the developers to trace the manufacturer but trends and fashions change so often in furniture that you may have to change more than the one if the doors are no longer in production.hth0

It seems crazy to have to go to such lengths just for a wheel runner for a wardrobe door. Thought they may have been a standard item on a DIY shelf. Obviously not.0

Another alternative is to go round the DIY places and check out the fittings for their fitted wardrobe doors. I had a similar problem a while back and I did the same and managed to locate a spare wheel.
Very often you'll find that manufacturers will upgrade the fascia of the item to fit in with modern trends etc, but the running gear/rollers etc will all be standard stock. Hence, if you can find similar running gear that looks like yours, but on a new door, you could then contact that manufacturer of that door to ask about the spares.0
