Swiftcover £25 discount

Hi all

I've been with Swiftcover for my car insurance for the last year. I've recently got my renewal which is about £10 cheaper than the price they gave me last year BUT I went through Quidco last time and so got £45 cashback.

Question 1 is has anyone successfully gone through Quidco again for their 2nd year's policy with Swiftcover?

Secondly, in an attempt to get them to lower their price without needing to rely on cashback I emailed them and said I was aware that there is a discount code which deducts £25 off the cost of a year's premium and asked if they would be prepared to apply this discount to my renewal price. They said no and went on to advise me that if I wanted to get the £25 off I'd have to get a new quote.

I went about obtaining a new quote and dispite putting in exactly the same details the price quoted was higher than my renewal and there seemed to be no confirmation that the £25 discount code had been applied.

So in summary

A) Can an existing Swiftcover customer go through quidco again in the 2nd year?
B) Has anyone successfully got quidco and used the £25 voucher code on the same quote
C) Is there any confirmation that the £25 has been deducted from the quoted price?

  • I was just about to post this question myself! sorry I can't be of any help, but lets hope you can - my new quote was more exspensive than my renewal quote as well - although like you would work out cheaper if i did quidco
  • This £25 discount code is starting to look like a bit of a con trick.

How can a new quote be more expensive than a renewal when the new quote is supposed to include a £25 discount?
  • I've just gone through the process of getting a new quote again. I've checked and double checked that every single detail is identical to the details on my renewal price.

I entered the £25 discount code and my final price does say this discount has been applied.

    My renewal price is....£207.69
The new quote is........£223.52 (this is after the £25 disount or so they claim!!!)

Just to repeat myself, every single piece of information is identical between the renewal and the new quote, including the voluntary excess.

Please can someone explain how this can be?????
  • We have swiftcover and ours has gone up by around 20 pounds including the discount for the exact same cover. I put it down to increases in operating costs uninsured driver payments etc.
They were still cheaper on renewal than any other company we checked so we had no choice really.
  • Has anybody been successful in getting both the cashback and using the discount code on the same transaction?
  • Bump

Is there no-one who can advise on this??

well the £45 has been tracked and the £25 discount was applied so 'touch wood' yes.

Even if the £45 isn't honored Swiftcover were still cheapest :T
