I've read that the guarantee for INVESTMENTS is only 30k.
Can someone tell me, is this in addition to the SAVINGS 35k guarantee ?

It is.
The investments protection scheme is 100% of the first £30,000 and 90% of the next £20,000 (which is a maximum of £48,000).
Investments in investment bonds and pensions (and other life wrappers) is 100% of first £2000 and 90% of the rest with no upper limit.
The investments protection is largely unimportant though as most people nowadays use unit linked investments and they are largely ringfenced or protected away from the provider.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
