Kwik Fit, free brakes as long as you own the car, is there a catch?
http://www.kwik-fit.com/free-brake-check.asp
My DH is a cab driver. He does a lot of miles.
I can't see a mileage limitation on this offer, is there any exclusions to the T&C's
He says one of the other drivers at his office has had it done & the car has the PCO stickers all over it, so they know it was a cab.
Might even be worth getting mine when they need doing, I only do lo9w mileage, but I bought it new in Dec 07 & I plan on keeping it at least 4 or 5 years.

According to the website "Terms and conditions may apply, ask the centre manager for details."
They also tend to charge more as well and are counting on someone changing the car after 3 years, doubt you will need that many brakes within 3 years.I hate migraines.0 -
"Replacement" might mean parts only so you've still got to pay for fitting.0

They will probably tell you the discs need replaced as well (extra charge).0

I didn't see that bit about T&C's, thank you.
As for how much you spend in three years, he does up on 50k miles a year:eek:0 -
AFAIK the terms and conditions are something to do with any other work they want to do must be carried out to get the new bits fitted free.
Pads and shoes don't cost that much and are generally not too challenging to fit. Shoes will last ages and ages, on a low mileage car should last longer than 4 years. Pads are more likely to need doing but I doubt they'd need doing more than twice. Thought about getting a Haynes manual, a couple of tools and giving it a go yourself? If a 17 year old spanner monkey in kwik fit can do it, you can too and with much more care and attention to detail.0 -

He doesn't do anything that involves getting on the floor & under it, he's got a bad back (a real bad back, he had a major spinal op a few years ago) so its not worth doing arkward things like that as it could "go".
He changes the pads 2 or 3 times a year, at 50k miles per year.0
