I have banked with HSBC for what seems like forever and have never considered changing. The couple of times i have had a problem with something they have always sorted it out quickly and easily.

As we have a joint current account and hubby has his wages paid in to it then we shall qualify for the current account advance.Strange though,i thought the talk was they would all be charging us for running current accounts but i expect in the current climate it just would not go down well!!
I have a regular saver due to finish soon so that will be useful, they are a good account.

My question is,as i haven't received the letter yet, what is mobilink please?

Mobilink is a little phone application, made by the LINK consortium (who run the ATM group of the same name) which lets you pull up balances and mini-statements on your accounts using a mobile. It's quite neat, and worth a try.

Bear in mind that HSBC is also soon introducing Text Banking, which sends you texts with your balance, recent transactions and if you're close to your overdraft limit. Should be launching around the middle of next month, I THINK for Advance customers, definitely for Plus customers. I know First Direct customers have had it for a while now, anyone used it and got any views on it?
  • i have the text banking with FD and think its great. (must be 5+year now).

I get a mini statement once a week on each account, and also have alerts set up to text if large transactions go out.

    Wouldnt be without it.

  • Do anyone know if the graduate accounts going to be moved over to this system as well or will they remain a separate product?

I'm just wondering, as my wages are mandated into the account and it would qualify for the Advance account.
