What is low water pressure?

I would like to ask what low water pressure is considered to be. My husband has sent me to buy a bath mixer type set of taps (the sort that runs a bath or can be used as a shower by pushing a knob). All was well until I got to the shop and was asked did I want low pressure or ordinary? I have no idea and want to know the difference please. The ordinary I can buy but the low pressure is not in stock and has to be ordered.

A low water pressure bath mixer is one that is intended to be supplied from a cistern in the roof, the water pressure would be low as it is dependant on just the head of water in the tank. A high pressure one is one that is intended to be supplied from the mains.
If you turn off your main stop valve and the cold tap in the bath stops running then it is supplied at mains pressure. If it does not stop running then it is being supplied from a tank, and is low pressure. The hot water is almost certainly going to be low pressure, if you have a mix of low pressure hot and high pressure cold on the same mixer then you could have severe complications in getting the shower mixer to work properly.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
