I'm going for lunch today as they called me to confirm still. I adore miso black cod so am really looking forward to this.

Another email received today.....

I have now had time to figure out the debacle of the free lunch offer. We allowed 2000 places to be booked, instead of 1000. It isn't possible to redeem this, so I have decided that we are going to place everyone left into an 'electronic hat' and pick out 500 people to give a chance at the free lunch which we will have to spread out through to January. One of our account managers will be in touch.
Thank you everyone who has emailed me to give their support with an honest mistake. We have loads of great offers coming up, we will give the 500 people who miss out 'first dibs' on the next freebie to come along.
As for those people who have given up a day's pay, strapped their false legs on, bought a new outfit, were bringing their dying mother/father/
brother/husband/ children for one last meal or have promised to have me shot, hung and put in prison; you are a little weird. It's a free lunch cobbers, not the rape of Canton.

Turned up tonight for our rescheduled meal and we weren't on the list again. They said they'd had about 5 couples turn up tonight who weren't booked and Ithaca were calling ManCon three times a day to get this sorted out

Obviously we still had to make arrangements for the evening and pay for transport and we ended up buying a reasonable meal elsewhere, as we were too hungry by then to go to the supermarket then go home and cook, and it would have been a dismal anti-climax anyway, having psyched ourselves into going out for a slap-up meal. Again.

I got a new email from ManCon today regarding the discount card. I can't really get that enthusiastic.

The email i recieved offering me this didnt say anything about only certain people being entitled to it. If it did i wouldnt of posted it , and the webpage should of made sure only certain people who were entitled could book.

I apologise to nayone who has had problems with this...i really didnt know it would end up in a shambles. I also hope those who have had their meal enjoyed it!
