Cover for towing

My BIL has an old Audi which he wants to get rid of. It's neither taxed nor MOT'd and he's asked me to tow it to a scrapyard. I know that I can tow my trailer and be covered third party but would the Audi be treated as a trailer for insurance purposes? I don't want to find that I'm not covered.

It is legal if you are towing it with its wheels off the ground on a trailer. But if you pull it along on a rope, then it needs tax etc

It is probably easier to get the scrapyard to come and pick it up.
He will get less for the car (or it will cost more), but I think it's gonna be simpler than tax and insurance issues.

Scrapping a car tends to go in cycles, sometimes they pay you for the car, other times you have to pay them to take it, depends on the value of scrap etc.
