Thanks Sandlake - there's is only £15. Just a shame their basic rates are c£20 more expensive than average!

Thought I should update my saga on one-way drop fees in Scotland.

I found a car on Ebookers which said there was NO one-way fee for the rental. When I completed the booking, the confirmation email said the hire was with Avis and there WOULD be a £30 +VAT fee!!!

So, back to EB who insisted there was NO additional charge and the email 'must be wrong' and would be corrected! Not trusting this I phoned Avis who said there would be a charge unless I had evidence from EB that it was included in the price paid. Which, of course, I didn't, as the email said there would be the extra charge.

Still no corrected email from EB so more conversations with their CS who said the 'technical people' were on the case!!!

Well, would you believe it, THEY then call me to say, sorry, there will be a charge after all!!!!!

BUT they do agree I booked on the evidence of the web site and will, therefore, refund me the fee if I send them the receipt.

The interesting thing is that they are STILL showing NO fee on the website! So, if anyone else wants a no one-way fee hire, look out for the no-fee Avis cars on EB and get them to honour the price.

Ps...the best legit. one-way fee I found was with Europcar at £13 +VAT.

Pps...what's there to do for two days in Aberdeen???

If you book with Avis one way and book a one way return at the same time, even if it is months later they do not charge the one way fee. This is what we did when we went to NZ for two months.
