We've booked our cruises from the following websites before and found them to be satisfactory and at least good for comparing prices:
https://www.iglucruise.com
https://www.idealcruising.co.uk
https://www.cruisedeals.co.uk
https://www.a1cruiseclub.com
https://www.preferredcruising.co.uk
Most of the cruise agents will match prices and I've had success getting savings by going around getting different quotes and asking the agents to beat the quotes. I think all of them have an online chat box thing so you can get a realtime quote quite easily since the prices shown may not be the update price.
Good luck!

We have done a few cruises as a family. P&O do have a great kds club, and Fred Olsen is OK in school holidays, but you will only find Fred Olsen from Liverpool, otherwise its the hike down to Southampton.
I have always got a good deal with www.LiverpoolCruiseClub.co.uk they tend to specialise in P&O and Fred Olsen for some reason (Maybe because Fred Olsen Sail from Liverpool?) and have always offered the lowest prices without having to ask to price match (which, being very British I hate doing!)0 -
I use www.cruisecompete.com to get cruise prices from a range of agents without having to give them any of my details. You specify which cruise you want, when you want to cruise and the best price you are trying to beat. When I see one I like I contact them to progress it. A lot of their agents are based in the US, but the prices can be incredibly better. Its great if you want to cruise out of the US or get some comparisons without talking to lots of cruise companies.0

I used cruise compete last Easter and got a really great deal, booking through an agent in Florida. When I posted the question whether it was ok to do this I got mixed answers. The travel agent I dealt with said they booked for people from the UK and Europe. The tickets are emailed to you - I was worried initially but would definitely do it again. You dont need baggage tags as they give these to you on the pier.Of course, this is for cruise only, you need to book your own flights, transfers - that is very easy to do but you must allow one night in a hotel minimum just in case your flight is delayed. I am happy to answer any other questions - some people replied to my question and really made me think twice about booking from the US but unless there is some amazing deal this end I would go thru the US!0

There are plenty of cruises from the UK over the summer and a few over the winter as well.
These are the main ones so get all the brochures and suss out what will work for you.
Thomsons
Fredolsen
Princess
Royal caribbean
P&O
NCL
Celebrity
Cunard
Voyages of discovery
carnival
MSC
Cruisecompete will not be able to give you prices for all of the offerings ex UK
For warm you usualy have to go for the 14n round trips to the med.
As well as dover and Southampton don't forget Harwich for the Baltics or Norway.
The round Britain cruises are good we have done 3 of those and often are quite good value for school holiday cruises
With a teen the bigger ships are more likely to appeal,
If liverpool is close then Fredolsen Black Prince is an option allthough small and much older there are some good deals.(might not be that teen friendly)
£50per person per day is a good target to aim for allthough bigger and better cabins can be a lot more, peak times in the school hols can also take you up towards £100pppd.
For the non flyers there are other ways to get to a cruise ship you are not limited to ex UK
Consider the train to Barcelona which is a hub for a lot of cruises.
http://gospain.about.com/od/traintravelinspain/qt/train_london_sp.htm
or Rome
this seems to be a good site for train info
http://www.seat61.com/Europe.htm
And there is the DFDS ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam another cruise hub
If just looking for a 2berth cabin and not family accomodation if you can be flexable on dates then lastminute deals are an option.

I booked a cruise for two adults last week. My top tip is do as much research as possible.
I researched online which cruiseline and then which cruise I wanted to go on. Once I had decided, I googled for the travel agents/ cruise specialists and priced it up.
It was a P&O cruise, and on their website the price was £1153 each with £50 on board each.
The prices I found ranged from £1170 to £930 all still with the £50 on board credit.
The best price was with cruisekings.com.
I then listed everything I had decided on. Cruise company;ship;cruise;dining option, and the best price I had found.
I then went to my local Co-operative travel branch. Handed the Cruise specialist my list and she price matched. She couldn't beat the price but I wasn't really surprised by that.
I spent approximately 4 hours to save £446.
I got the exact cruise I wanted with nearly 20% off at a local travel agent, so if there is a question or problem I can go and see them in person. I am chuffed I have saved so much money on something I was buying anyway and am really looking forward to my cruise, so much so I have had some great dreams about it.0 -
