DVD camcorder...problem reading disc -HELP!

I wonder if anyone can help - I have a dvd camcorder and when trying to play back footage I get an error message saying incompatible disc. The footage recorded fine and the disc is one of a box of 20+ which otherwise have been fine so I don't know what the problem is. I've tried to play it back in the dvd player as well as the camcorder but nothing happens.

I wouldn't usually be too bothered but this particular disc includes footage of my toddler son speaking to and kissing my very pregnant belly as well as the first footage of my baby daughter :-(

Is there any hope for it?! Is there a company/person with magic powers that I can send it to to fix?
