New dog stress collar

Hi there
I was wondering has anyone bought/tried for their dog this new collar that I believe from the same makers of the plug-ins, it is suppose to help with loud bangs, noises and now that the firework period is rapidly approaching.
I have seen it on a online pet store priced at £20. I have started to give my dog relaximax again to try to calm her down, but I am open to suggestions.

Why is your dog stressed or bothered by these noises?

Getting calming aids are only a short term fix, with some behavioural therapy your dog could benefit a lot from it.

fair point - but sometimes we need a short term fix!

Neither of my last 2 dogs have been bothered by fireworks but one was freaked out by hot air balloons!

As these were infrequent we didnt worry too much, so sorry I cannot help re the collar!

We used the collar for something else. We don't think it helped for us but that's not to say it won't for you.

I would probably advise that you buy a CD (available online or some pet shops) that has firework sounds on them. And then simply play them at home to acclimitise your dog to the noise - this can desensitise them to the sounds of fireworks. However, this still may not work and is simply one of many suggestions you can try but good luck!

I've used the DAP plug in before and felt it had some calming effect on my dogs, not tried the collar tho.

I have one dog that couldn't care less about fireworks and his brother whose scared witless. I found that he's not bothered when fireworks/bangs etc are on on TV so i'm not sure the CD would work on him.

Our first bonfire night i put the DAP on and made him a little den and he stopped shakeing and by the 2nd night was happy to sleep in his den while the fireworks were going off. It was still an issue with planning loo breaks tho as he wouldn't go if i could get him outside during a quieter period. Thankfully he has a steel bladder so i took him out about 4/5pm and then quite late after fireworks had ended.
