My electric bills were averaging £90 every 3 mnths but when I decide to move they send me a final bill for £139.
At first it looks like a slight increase but get this they state that this is for the last month I stayed in my previous address...
They said this increase was due to not enough metre readings but surely it couldnt go from £90 for 3mnths to £139 for just over 1 mnth could it?
Please help...

Sounds like the usual issue - you have been billed previously (for how long you don't say, perhaps a year or more) based on estimated readings.
Now you have a final bill, it will be based on an actual or customer reading.
You are now being billed for what you have actually consumed, rather than what they estimated you consumed - that could have built up over the whole period since an actual or customer reading was last obtained.
You can give a customer reading whenever to receive an estimated bill - actually most suppliers will accept a customer reading any time you feel like providing one. By ensuring the supplier has accurate readings, rather than estimated ones, you'll avoid building up unpaid consumption charges.
Look on the bright side, you've effectively had an interest free loan for the period the debt has built up."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
