it is indeed possible to get last minute standby tickets at prices of up to 90% off on
Many airlines issue these tickets but they are not last minute just standby, the seat is not confirmed but neither is the date which is a big plus. BA call them ID90s and while you get 90% off the 'full fare' (excl tax/surcharges) it is in fact often cheaper to use a cheapo airline. Currently BA ID90s from London to Ireland cost approx £80 for a return and I've just booked a Ryanair return for £16.0
