same as just about any other giant coperation, you can not speak to anyone with any authority or anyone who even knows your case notes
took me 5 months and over 30 phone calls (and having to explain every single time what had happened) to get a refund on an O2 upgrade, even thou they admitted they had upgraded the wrong account :mad:0 -
I also am looking for someone senior at Dell to complain to regarding their poor customer service and in particular the rudeness of the head of that department. I've been told by the head of the department that any complaints about him or the department will simply be passed back to him anyway, so it seems complaining is useless. I've sent e-mails to Board_of_Directors@Dell.com (as on Dells website) but these have been completely ignored.
Does anyone know of a senior employee of Dell who can be relied on to investigate complaints in a professional manner? Following my dealings with Dell, I doubt if there if they employ such a person. Dell have got to be one of the most unprofessional companies that I have come into contact with.0 -

I have had awful customer service from Dell since ordering from them in November 2010. My laptop was faulty from the outset and kept having 'bluescreen' crashes frequently. Have spent over 5 hours on the phone to India, reinstalling everything from drivers to the whole operating system, the laptop still crashes and does weird things like freezing and touchpad doesn't work properly. Phoned their (chargeable) helpline again and asked for a refund or replacement and they refused - won't let me escalate the issue and there is seemingly no form of redress except endless phonecalls and reinstallations which is very inconvenient and gets nowhere. Utterly appalling service and total disinterest once they have your money - avoid Dell unless you can put up with poor quality products, lengthy and expensive phonecalls to India, and rude staff. Terrible. :mad:0

I wish I'd searched for Dell Laptop Reviews before buying mine, as it would have saved so much pain. The amount of bad press out there about Dell's poor customer service is unbelievable. All saying the same thing - you get put through to a useless call centre in Mumbai who pass you from one dept to the next and know nothing about consumer rights, sale of goods act etc. They simply quote their own 7 day guarantee, which is overridden by UK law, but they simply don't care. Dell customer service is appalling.0

I've found Dell's tech to overall be very good -I did have a problem with one guy who tried to fob me off and try and tell me what was wrong without troubleshooting. (His wild guess was completely off base btw) As I work in tech support myself he got a flea in his ear and he couldn't move fast enough to transfer me to someone who did know what they were talking about but apart from that one incident I've found them a bit slow but thorough and very courteous.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I agree - Tech support with Dell has been broadly good... but the delivery with Walsh Western is always a total disaster.

I am experiecencing awful customer service from Dell, since ordering a laptop online. They took the money from my credit card immediatley and promptly delivered the laptop within 3 days. All good so far then I tried to use the laptop and from the outset it was faulty, kept having 'bluescreen' crashes locking up ect.
Have spent ages on the phone to India, and trying to reinstalling whilst on the phone (at my expense) they agreed to send a technician out as it was a "software" issue. The guy turned up (at my place of work) and spent 3 hours trying to fix it each time he thought it was done I insisted on turning laptop off and re starting only for it to blue screen again - had he not been bald I think he would have pulled his hair out. Eventually he wrote a report stating hardware issue and laptop to be replaced (i copied this whilst he was on phone to Dell)> I then rang Dell and explained I had done everything that they had asked and given them every opportunity to fix the laptop but still it was faulty and I would like a Swop and Drop. This I was told would not happen for at least 10 working days!!! Not happy with this I asked to speak with a Manager who read off the same script but added a few " I understand & I am sorry" for effect. It was left that Shilla would call me back with a date for exchange - Guess what NO call back so I emailed Shilla at email she gave me again NO response, I rang again and Shilla (yes I managed to get through to the same person) told me an engineer had tried to contact me but got no answer! When I said this was not true she changed the story to had left a message on my answer machine at home (not True), I asked why she had not responded to my email - she had not received it!!! um. Fed up I asked for a refund where she now told me that would take 10 days I hung up very dissapointed. Today I got a call from the collection department to arrange collection of the laptop on Friday I asked if the money had been credited to my card and was told this would not happen until they had the laptop back in their possession!!! WHAT as if I was going to hand back the laptop and have to wait for them to credit me they money if at all. I told the guy to call me back when he had credited my card with the money or arranged a swop and drop within a few day (not 10 working days), here I was met with silence on the other end of the phone...he then said he would get advice and call me right back. Yes:T he did call back agian and said I had to return the laptop before and refund could be actioned, I stuck me ground and insisted I was not letting the laptop out of my sight until I had my money back or a replacement laptop. Again he had to check and see what he could do - he called back and agreed that a laptop would be delivered within 5 days to my place of work and they would then arranc=ge for collection of the faulty one. So now I have to sit and wait to see it this happens.
Oh and if your wondering I quoted my rights under the Sale of Goods Act but this was met with silence then totally ignored, I suppose moving customer services to India makes them exempt.0
