optical cable query

hi there

i have just ordered an optical cable for my xbox 360, as both ends of the optical cable are the same does it matter which ends go's into the 360, and which ends go's into the surround sound system, thank you

Nope. It makes no difference.

It really shouldnt, but just look on the lead if there are any 'arrows'. If so it should point towards the surround sound system.

Oh I agree Marty, but theres no harm if the manufacturers reckon its 'better' that way for whatever reason.
I have a top of the range wireworld and I honestly cant remember if it does or not now........

Optical cable isn't directional and impossible to be. Only possible affect is if the fittings on either end are physically different (in which case you'd only be able to plug in one way anyway).
