Don't know what I would be entitled to

Long story short...after a load of hassle at my last job, was forced to leave but given a sum of money to 'keep quiet' shall we say. We have been living off that money since May, but it is about to run out. My husband earns around £600 per month working part time, we have a mortgage of around £900 a month, two children under 9. Of course, goes without saying I have been applying for jobs, going to interviews, tearing my hair out, but nothing has happened yet. I went on the tax credits calculator and it informed me we would get some ridiculous sum like £400 extra a year! I am worried sick that i will not get work for a while and that the house will be reposessed, children taken into care etc - you know all those 'rational' thoughts you have!!

Anyone got any idea what we could be entitled to? The main worry for me is the mortgage - why do we not get any assistance with this? It makes me so angry.

Thanks in anticipation

JJ
