Dell help needed

Hi

Sorry if this is in the wrong place - wasn't sure where to post it tbh.

My husband ordered a laptop from Dell on 19/08 through his place of work and paid for on his CC. They took the payment 2 weeks ago and emailed to advise delivery would be by 12th Sept, then he got another email a few days later to advise delivery would be by 22nd Sept. He had a phonecall from them yesterday to tell him that they can't supply the laptop we ordered as they can't get hold of a part for it. They have offered us a better spec one but for an extra £70. I've looked through their T&C but can't find anything to help me. Am I right in thinking they shouldn't be charging us the extra £70 as its not our fault they can't supply the model we ordered?
Banana Lovers
Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning

You need to negotiate on the phone with them - e-mail will never work. If they can't supply then they must refund the money - suggest this and I bet they'll sort you out a new model for nothing extra.
  • They are rock bottom prices now. Refund is in order. If it's a better spec then pay for it. No company can give away £70 (+20%) value for your buisiness. Would you?
