When you pay CT you pay for the whole year but what happens if you move within 6 months?
Can you transfer 'the balance' per se to a new address or have to repay?
Many thanks.

thanks bryanb. I'm going to lease for 6 months and then take it from there. Just wanted to know if I move that I don't end up overpaying or paying in a new place at over the same period (ie after 6 months).0 -
you can pay up to the whole year in full . I did this once when the local authority couldnt get thier act together to sort out the DD *kept losing the forms*.
i mved out of the borough with 2 months CT paid, and I advised them of this in qwriting with proof of my new address ( out of the borough) and they senjt me a cheque for the few hundred quid difference. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
If you are moving within the same Council area then they can simply transfer the amount by which you would be in credit on your old address to be set against your liability at the new address, provided that the name is the same (ie if in single name at one address, then ditto at the other). If you move out of the area, or are using new account name, then you simply arrange for an adjusted bill for the old address and a refund of the overpayment to be sent to your new address (usually done within 10 working days)0
