Morning Sammy - tis annoying getting colds - I have succumbed and turned the heating on low just to take off the chll of theevening and mornings!! Tried to wait till the end of the month but failed!!! However, I have loaded the meter up over summer so should not be to bad.
Today, I have to clean and tidy the sitting room and dining room - boo hoo! Then go to the mahoosive Tesco! even worse.
Have a great day everyone and here is another photo to make you smile!

Great pic SF, I am already thinking about where to go for my hols next year:rolleyes:
My little puddy tat is poorly sick:( she has been sick alot the last couple of days but has not had anything to eat or drink since breakfast yesterday and she hasnt even been to the litter tray.
She is just sleeping in her little bed and lifting her head up whenever anyone walks past (she hasnt been sick since last night). I have checked that she can still stand up but she just walks back to her bed and curls up...........she is 16years old and very frail.
If she hasnt eaten or had a drink by the time I get in from work at 3.30pm I think she well need a trip to the vets......poor baby.
Carl is off school with a bad cold so I will get him to monitor how she is.
Hope everyone else has a good day.But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
this is my first time posting on the daily chat thread x
I am not looking forward to today. I had 2 lovely ladies from the Cats protecion League round yesterday and whilst they are unable to rehome any of my cats at the moment, they have decided that they are going to buy all their food for the time being and also 3 of them need vets attention and they are going to foot the bill. I was given the telephone number of the vets they use and told to book them in one by one and tell the vets that CPL would be footing the bill
Well, I rang to book in the one that is most poorly, Nutmeg is 15 and not well at all and the 3 of us suspected yesterday that it may be time for her to cross over the rainbow bridge onto a better life. So i rang the vets and the lady on reception make me feel that I was the most uncaring, person on the planet, her attitude was awful and it has really upset me yet I know I have to face her this afternoon at 2pm when I take Nutmeg down. She clearly gives the impression that only rich people should be able to have pets as they are much more responsible - and she kept telling me how expensive all this treatment was going to be and how I should feel humbled that CPL were paying. I did hear from someone though that the Vets don't charge the CPL the same as what they would normally charge and this is probably the reason why she was ratty with me.
I know she has no idea what my situation is on a personal level and its nothing to do with her anyway, but her attitude towards me was just so nasty and I feel sick at the prospect of having to meet her at 2pm.
i had an interview at Tesco's yesterday and I am also waiting to hear today if I got the job - an extra 12 hours in the cafe if I do.
And then tomorrow morning is my initial phone call with CCCS and I'm sooo nervous.
All this in the week that I SHOULD have been getting ready for my wedding on Saturday.
And people ask if I'm okay
NO, I'm flipping Not

Sorry for the rant - had to get it out to people who would listen and not judge xxx0 -
Brokenheartedperson....you should not have been made to feel like you did by the snotty receptionist. You have done the most sensible thing - please try to ignore snotty receptionist this afternoon....Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Good morning
Am feeling a bit bleurgh this morning so hope everyone else is feeling better than me!
Lou & BH - sorry to hear of poorly puddy tats; hope they feel better soon.
SF - I'm refusing to turn the heating on until the beginning of November; it's a matter of priniple (i.e. more cash in my pocket than Scottish Power). Thankfully I have a lovely warm duvet to curl up under in the sitting room when I'm watching TV and it keeps me lovely and toasty warm...
Luc - wish it was my last day in work this week. I'm really not enjoying being here at the moment!
Hope everyone has a good day.

Wol2 has offerred to help me a little with the letter to erin's school, to make it a little less emotional and more action based and at suggestion of Buffy, i will hand deliver it to school today, this shows i mean business moreso than a posted letter.....
BHA - see how it goes with the vets this afternoon, i hope it is a different member of staff and that they are nice to you at a difficult time... i hope nutmeg will be okay, but you have my thoughts either way...
Maybe worth mentioning to CPL officer that the vets that they refer to are not being particularly nice to people in your situations, and they may well be able to say something to them... even if they are subsidised, i bet the CPL referrals still generate revenue and there are plenty other vets who would welcome the business.... and if it is a case of the vets doing the CPL a favour, and you need to just take it on the chin, then i guess it's better if the CPL tell you that, rather than the attitude of some snooty receptionist!!
What is it with GP and obviously Vet receptionists??? they must get taken aside and given snooty biatch lessons!
Other news in land of Maz - Payday for me today, which is nice, but trying to reign spending in so i have money for when i go to see my bro in Wrexham and visit the Bunny Warren on the 17th October... i want to be able to buy my share of the WooWoo mix!
Running club is tonight... looking forward to taking my emotions re erin's school out on the pavements!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Morning all. Feeling a bit meh again today.. knew the happy day or two wouldn't last! lol Ah well. On the bright side managed to get 2 big chapters of my OU book done last night so actually ahead of myself. lol
Hope everyone's ok.
