Hi,
we have our bathroom on the 1st floor, but when we flush the toilet, we notice there isnt mush pressue going into the bowl
its a siphon tank type toilet, which has a tank and a small pipe connected to the bowl.
it was fine for quite a few years but has suddenly started to play up
are there any washers or mechanisms we can change.
thanks in advance.

Have you lifted the lid on the cistern to have a look at the water level?
A low water level will give a poor flush.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I had this problem and could see nothing wrong when I took the lid off. A plumber took the whole of the iside bit out and there was a problem. There was a rubbery/plastic mebrane at the bottom, of the inside fittings, which had split. Replaced and all working fine now.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. I had exactly the same problem a couple of years ago - there is a thin plastic sheet in the bottom of the syphon used to 'lift' the water up."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
It sounds like the diaphgram may have a small hole in it, which means that the syphon is no longer effective.
You can easily fix this yourself with a little plumbing knowledge, how to do it is described briefly here- http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/toilets.htm
If you fit a new syphon, then this one is best as the next time you need to replace the diaphgram you can do it in less than 5 mins as this one splits into two parts
