years ago there was a man called the cooking canon who appeared on breakfast tv.
he did a fantastic christmas recipe which i am trying to track down but unfortunately my details are very sketchy - wondered if anyone can help?
very basically it was a non cook - refrigerated - chocolate cake for christmas. i dont remember there being any flour in it - lots of fresh cream, chocolate, nuts and glace cherries is all i remember - then it was put in the fridge to set.
sorry to be so vague - i have hunted him and the recipe down on google for two or three years now and have had no success.
thanks in advance all - and if you respond and i dont thank you right away, please forgive me but i am away from tonight till monday lunch time
happy weekend.

Hi Brokenwings,
Dont know if this will help as its not exactly what you were looking for but sounds similar.
Ice-Box Cake
75gm butter
25gm sugar
4tbsp cocoa
2tbsp single cream
50gm glace cherries
12 digestive biscuits
Cream together butter and sugar. Stir in cream and cocoa and mix till creamy. Crush biscuits, some big bits, some small bits and add with cherries to the choc mixture. Mix together. Spoon into lined tin and cover with greaseproof paper. put in freezer for 3 hours or until set. Turn onto a plate, remove paper and leave to thaw for 30 mins, cut into approx 12 slices or small squares.

Also thought of this;
You could use the ice box cake recipie but roll the mix into truffles instead. Coat in some choc vermicelli and put on a greaseproof covered plate to freeze.
Could also use muesli and sultanas instead os digestives and cherries?WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
And if none of the above works, there are afew on this search page that you'll have to check to see if they match your recollection:

Google 'Chocolate Refridgerator Cake' and you will get plenty of different options. Pre-soaking the raisins in sherry or Amaretto gives a nice Christmasy touch too....0
