Atlantic Electricity and Gas - check your rebate!

Those of you on Atlantic's Gas and Electricity Direct Debit scheme might want to check that you are actually getting your 13th month rebate which is equivalent to a months free usage in the form of a cashback...
I called them yesterday because their computer had helpfully decided to 'up' my repayments by about 40% based on an estimated reading earlier in the year and as they only send out a bill once every 6 months I was unaware of this. After arguing the toss they eventually relented and set things back the way they were but interestingly enough they DIDNT pay out my rebate of some £60 which was due back in July because of some mysterious 'change' that happened on their system at that time.
I would urge everyone that has had a dual fuel account with Atlantic for more than a year to check their own bills - I MAY be the only one but im sure no one will blame me for being sceptical about this during these interesting times...!

Thanks for that. Just to clarify you are saying that they have/will not be paying out the rebate?
If not I think there are cheaper deals out there so it will a Comparison site, Quidco(if possible) and bye bye.

Happy to say that they ARE paying the rebate now but another forum member has commented that they are relying on the customer to contact THEM in order to arrange this after every 13th month. I cant confirm whether this is true or not but Id certainly give them a call and ask them to pay it back to you if youve gone over your 13th month!
You might like to also hint to them that if they are VERY late in paying this back then an additional sum to compensate you wouldnt go amiss either as youre thinking of moving as a result of this fiasco.... they can only say No after all!!

Thanks for that, due November so will see. Just checked and they seem to be as cheap as any, if not cheaper, with the rebate.0

i too had to ring for my rebate as it hadnt been credited. although when i rang they couldnt understand why i had been missed
got the credit within a few days.
seems you do have to chase them for it0
