A&L current account - "monthly funding"?

Hello,

Is anyone aware how A&L define their "monthly funding" requirement - is it per calendar month? Or per the date you opened your account?

If anyone knows I'd be grateful, as I can't get through to them!

Many thanks,

Laura
Waddle you do eh?

I always interpreted this as 'per calendar month' and never had any problems...
  • I checked with A&L when i opened the account. It is per calender month and it doesnt matter what date u fund the account. It just has to be within the calendar month

This isn't my understanding, nor my experience. It's per 'statement period' rather than calendar month. So if your statement runs from the 10th to the 9th you can credit it during two calendar months. since A&L sets your statement dates it would be unfair of them to use a different reference period.

I was at the end of my 3rd week of collecting pins, plastic etc. and was puzzled why I hadn't received my Internet Banking ID and pin in week 2, as everything else had run according to clockwork.

Gave them a call. Apparently they hadn't sent me ID and pin for the following reason. At the beginning of 2005 I had briefly had an Online Saver with them, closed it down, they confirmed it. However, they had retained my ID and pin and assumed that I would be using the same one, that's why they didn't send anything. So I told them, when I closed the account, I destroyed all trace of my ID and pin etc., so the guy told me my ID number over the phone and a new pin will be in the post.

Thought it might be useful to anyone else, in case they have been in the same situation
