Questions on Credit Report

in Credit cards
I am part of checkmyfile.co.uk and I have a huge number of questions on my credit report.
I have several accounts that say.....
"Settled/Satisfied
The account has been closed following settlement."
one of them says :
Last updated: 9th January 2003
Current balance: Account closed on 11/12/2002
How long do these stay on my credit report, and when do they disappear?
I also have a settled account that says:
Account status: Default
Default date: 2nd September 2004
Default satisfied date: 9th April 2005
Account end date: 9th April 2005
How long will this stay on record?
Furthermore a couple of my credit cards were paid late and are showing a 1 month late payment. How can I get these records amended if at all?
Thanks in advance.

Settled accounts stay on record for 6 years from the date they were settled. Default accounts stay on record for 6 years from the date the lender decided you had broken the agreement.
Have a look at this pdf document for an explanation of your credit file.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -
Doesn't surprise me!ticketcollector wrote: »I am part of checkmyfile.co.uk and I have a huge number of questions on my credit report.
There is a huge amount of information missing from a checkmyfile report...especially from Experian, the most widely used CRA. Did you read the T&C's and their "what's included" section?
Do yourself a favour and stop using them. Order your credit reports (£2 each or take a free 30-day trial) directly from the CRA's themselves.0 -

Hmm I cant use the 30day free trial as I have already been a member of creditexpert.
I was wondering why experian was... well empty to be honest.
Is it worth paying £6.99 a month for it? Or just pay the £2 for the paper versions?
So far checkmyfile seems to be okay for the other two credit reporting agencies. I pay £5 per month for 3 credit reports.Ex-Employee of a Train Operating Company.

I wouldn't, but many do.ticketcollector wrote: »Is it worth paying £6.99 a month for it?
A £2 paper copy report is valid (for questions on existing accounts*) for 90 days, meaning 4 per year (per agency) are required. There's even a freephone number for queries (they won't give you it, but there isOr just pay the £2 for the paper versions?
).
* They can interrogate the 'live' data for balance, limit, settled status, repayment history, etc. However, you won't be able to ask about new searches, or new accounts established since the last report you paid for, but that's about the only restriction.0
