Hi there,
Wander if anyone can advise, i have just gone on to SSP after being ill for several months, now i was recieving about 50p a week housing benefit/ c tax benefit after my new tax credits award was calculated in april.
I also recieved a lump sum last month from tax credits due to an underpayment of tax credits from last year after i made a mix up over my maternity pay for income, i used this lump sum to pay off some credit card debt.
Well now i've gone onto SSP i need to provide all new info to the housing benefit dept, how will the lump sum that i got for underpayment from tax credits effect my council and housing benefit i will now recieve?
Thanks so much for taking the time to read.

afaik it will be treated as a "one off payment" and will be disregarded.
HB / CTB only take the regular weekly (or 4 weekly) payment into account0 -
Thanks very much for that, i can't wait to go back to work full time, lifes so much easier without benefits!0
