wow that ninot looks awesome, shame you had to burn it! I wonder what's the significance, I know it can mean something else in other cultures (which would make me uneasy!). Fab win though, thanks for sharing. :T
Ninots tend to be a sort of satire, often they are of people who have been in the news that year, so it wouldn't surprise me if there were Tiger Woods/Ronaldo or people like that as ninots.
It looks like a fabulous tripI want to go next year!

Thanks everyone. There were political figure ninots and lots of jokey ones. The burning is the end of the festival but sort of signifies a fresh start too. The whole thing was mental. Definitely I'd recommend those who aren't of a nervy nature going to the Fallas. If you're scared of bangs/fireworks I wouldn't recommend. All the children have bags of fireworks/crackers as if they were sweets.

We won a 3 night trip to Sweden to the IceHotel just at the beginning of this year including some Haglofs winter clothing, and went last weekend. It was absolutely fabulous and the scenery was stunning. It's located about 250km north of the Arctic circle, and the temperature was between -8 and -23. We spent the first night in the actual ice hotel which was -5! But the sleeping bag we had was toasty!! Our trip included snowmobiling...which was a little scary at first but good fun, and we also went on an evening Icelandic horse trek through the forest....followed by a traditional Sami meal of moose stew!!
We had a wonderful time and here are a few pics!!!0 -

Fabulous pictures - what a great prize:)"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you. "
