Warm front grants

Does anyone know how the Warm front grants work if your a tenant in private rented accomodation?
I read that if you was a tenant in private accomodation and on certain benefits then you may be eligible for a grant.
Does the Landlord get billed for the work done? or is it just done under the scheme and no cost recouperated from the LL?

it says "If you own your own home or rent it from a private landlord" which is the situation0 -
My tenant was entitled to cavity wall and loft insulation (but the house was already insulated).
Central heating (that we'd hoped to get free) was not available because that is the LL's responsibility and there was already night storage heaters throughout the downstairs area.
She did get a few low energy lightbulbs though.

Check out the 'warm front' website which will tell you the benefits you need to be entitled to it. We are private renting tenants and we are currently in the process of getting loft insulation and draught proofing with this scheme. It is free but you do need your landlords permission (they send a form to them). So far we've had an inspector come out to assess the work that could be done and are just waiting for landlords permission and then work can start. Benefits are checked when the inspector comes round to inspect. Work can take a while to organise tho, but at least it's free and helps us out and keeps us warmer this winter!0

I see even Tesco are in on the game now. You are not limited to the energy supplier, there are plenty of local and national companies who will claim the grant on your behalf.
Although the price will be standard, the speed at which they can do the work will vary.
