    I buy the tablets at Aldi and then I only use one tablet per load. I honestly can't see any difference in performance. If you pre-treat any stains, everything will turn out just fine.

    Remember those laundry balls that were supposed to remove dirt by ionizing the water or something? Those were tested and found to work no better than plain water. The reason people thought they were so effective was that they didn't realize plain water actually does a pretty good job.

    Where did the original poster moan? I have 4 kids , and can well afford to keep them, but that doesnt mean that price rises dont affect us all, and we should look of ways to economise?? How rude!!

    I don't have any kids but I'm glad the OP asked the question. I'm going to use one tablet with some soda crystals now and see how it goes. So thanks OP, and thanks to most other posters for the helpful feedback!
