Options
I paid the ultimate price when I dropped my laptop, had to have a new hard drive. Guy in the shop re istalled windows, but I've lost the Vaio network. On the Vaio site, I could download any updates, but cant find anyway to get the whole system. Any ideas?

I use a Sony Vaio and always find the Sony forums helpful.

You can also contact Sony Support here

Hope they can help, good luck
  • Libra10's link to the Sony support site will enable you to download Vaio model specific drivers.

If all is working well apart from the network card(s) then I would suggest just downloading either the network (wired) or wireless network driver.

It may be a good idea to download the entire set and save them to a CD. What I do is create a folder on the laptop called say, "Vaio Drivers" and then add sub folders called "Audio" "Graphics" "Wired Network" "Wireless" etc and download the drivers into the relevant folder.

This way, when Windows asks you to select the location of any particular driver when updating, you can specify it easily.

You can then copy the entire driver set folder to CD or whatever for a permanent backup in case of hard disk failures.

If you are unsure how to update drivers, follow this guide
