Software Rip-off

Had a virus on my computer and this pop-up kept jumping at me all the time telling me about the number of trojans etc. Decided to purchase Internet Antivirus, however, $59.95 turned into £59.95 and then after I entered all my debit card details noticed there was a further £43.00 plus for extra software that I didn't ask for. Website states refund within 30 days if I change my mind - asked for this immediately as I felt I had been duped but now all I keep getting is an e-mail telling me that they cannot make a refund due to 'technical difficulties' with their billing partner and to contact my bank - who obviously have no obligation to give me a refund.
Where do I go from here any ideas????

Please tell me you didn't buy the AntiVirus software mentioned in the pop up that said you had a virus...
If you did, then you have been horribly duped. It was this software that probably caused the 'virus' in the first place. You'd be better off not installing this software that it's provided as it'll cause more harm than good. Potentially you will need to speak to your CC provider to gain a refund mentioning that it was an internet scam.0 -

Hope you get your money back.
Never ever use a debit card online. Use a credit card as you're protected and can charge back the transactions with your CC issuer.0 -
You have just been scammed I am afraid.
Never EVER EVER EVER buy stuff from a pop-up
Download:
-Spybot Search and Destroy
-Ad-aware (by Lavasoft)
-Avast! Home Edition
They are all free and really good. Run them on your computer like NOWBuy for value not cost.

there's so much free protection out there which is very good. You sould never need to buy anything.
These 'warning sites' are designed to panic and work well on the unwary.
Also install Firefox. Much better than IE, more secure.0 -
was it antivirus xp 08? if you google this you will find a download that will erase this off your computer. then do as others have said and get a decent FREE antivirus. maybe contact your cc head office and they may stop the payment.... good luckspanky xx

What do I do if a fit Russian bird (who is related to a Nigerian man who only accepts western union payments) with a 14" dangler trying to sell you antivirus software who is having issues with her billing provider?0 -

Send her £5000 via Western Union, on top of the £5000 already sent. Only if it's a payment to cover a 'funds transfer cost' to release £5,000,000 from the nigerian lottery you just won ( that you never entered ).0
