My son has just moved house and it has quite new (2yrs???) PVC windows.
Trouble is the place was filthy!
Managed to clean them up well except for what looks like the remains of masking/sticky tape on some of the frames.
No amount of cleaning products are shifting the marks.
The marks are brown and not raised IFYGWIM?
Any ideas on what would shift them please.
    Thanks
    LL

I am an huge fan of Sticky Stuff Remover, which Lakeland and some independant hardware stores stock. I've used it to remove parcel tape marks before and it was great.

If you can't get any, a small amount of oil (cooking oil is fine) sometimes works to remove sticky residue. You have to rub it in for a while, but it often does the trick (not as well as Sticky Stuff Remover). Obviously, you have to clean the oil of afterwards

another vote for WD40- BUT OPEN THE WINDOWS and don't smoke!

with the oil - forget it. Use mayonnaise - don't get the good stuff get a jar of basic and rub a layer on the sticky marks and wait a while (the mayo will stay put;)) try that.

Or CIF cream (well basics again will be just as good)
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

wd40 works well and so does sticky stuff remover.
It's probably old stickiness from tape and nicotine stained, seen that before. yuck!

Metholated spirits often works well on this sort of thing.

I used nail varnish remover with a scourer on mine - worked very well, just make sure you leave the windows open a while to get rid of the smell!
