Nationwide Visa abroad vs Egg Money

in Credit cards
Hello everybody, my first post here.
I have a Nationwide Visa card that I used to use for everything (when it was 1% cashback, monthly balance transfers for stoozing when they allowed it, and use abroad on holiday).
I stopped using it for everyday use when I got the Amex Platinum with better cashback, and have stopped using it as a backup card now that I have an Egg money card with better cashback, and am now wondering whether I should just scrap it (which might help stoozing wise getting it off my list of cards held and available credit).
Do I read the Egg money card conditions right that I can load up the card before going on holiday with whatever I think I am going to spend (plus comfort zone), then withdraw money from cashpoint machines without loading charges or incurring interest charges (which does incur interest charges now with the Nationwide card), and on coming home, transfer any excess back to my bank account, having earned interest on the excess in the mean time.
Also does the Egg Mastercard give the same currency rate as the Nationwide Visa Card?
Cheers,
Alan.

The only charge will be the currency charge if you pre-load the card before departure.asandwhen wrote:You will be charged for using the egg card abroad unfortunately
Is there a charge for using my account abroad?
When you use Egg Money to pay for anything in a foreign currency, there's a charge of 2.65%. This charge is added to your purchase amount, so it doesn't appear separately on your statement. To keep things simple, everything is automatically converted into sterling when it's shown on your statement.

How do I make a withdrawal?
You can make cash withdrawals from cash machines that accept MasterCard. You can withdraw a maximum of £500 per day. It’s worth noting that when you purchase travellers' cheques, these will register as a cash advance and will affect the amount of cash you can withdraw that day. We will not charge you a fee or interest for cash withdrawals when you have a positive balance. However, if a withdrawal gives you a negative balance you will be charged interest on the negative amount, but we will not charge you a fee.

The Nationwide Debit card is still the one to have for cash withdrawals and their Visa Card for purchases.0
