Bogus de Piffle Johnson's take on the matters. Would be funny, if he were not in charge of London.

Good to see the Tories showing the popular touch. :rolleyes:

That he seems not to know what the f**k he is talking about. Oh gosh, cripes you musn't be nasty to Johnny banker, he is a spiffing sound chap really.
Shame for Boris that the "lefties" he doesn't mention include most of the Financial Times commentariat.

I'm only guessing as I can't stand London, so never go there. But if I was MOL the last thing I would want to do is upset the bankers.
Mind you I wouldn't want to be writing newspaper articles either, I would have thought being MOL was work and responsibility enough, but hey, what do I know!Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

When you add up all the special interest groups contribution to GDP, why do you get to 300% rather than 100% ?
"lawyers, PR firms, interior designers" - come on Gordon bail them out quick, god forbid that we have fewer PR firms.
He neglects to mention the armies of cleaners, many working at barely above minimum wage, many of them illegal immigrants to clean the offices.US housing: it's not a bubble

Boris is in the pay of these rich city bankers so it's hardly suprising to see him sticking up for the spivs.0

All pigs are equal but some are more equal than others.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Boris should concentrate on building Tracey Island airport in the thames and forget about finances, I wouldn't trust that bloke with a beer kitty...0

Check out the comments to BoJo's article.
My personal favourite:
Yes we know Hitler was bad, but he did build some nice roads....
BTW, give me BoJo offer Broon anytime. At least BJ has got a sense of humour!In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
Let us be clear: the banks have been greedy, sometimes hideously greedy. And they have collaborated in encouraging the greed and credulity of home-owners, on both sides of the Atlantic, who have taken on more debt than they can manage.
The banks have made it worse by taking that bad debt, and chopping it up into funny parcels called derivatives, and selling these products to each other to make even more money; and then they have made things much, much worse by lying.
They have been lying to each other about they extent to which they hold this toxic stuff, and so trust has broken down, and the banks have stopped dealing with each other, and no one can get any credit, and the short-selling hedge funds have begun to close in - quite reasonably - to sell the banks' shares and start the bloodbath.Before you attack the bankers of London, remember that this is one of the few global industries in which we truly excel;
Ye gods!! If that's "excelling", what would failing hopelessly entail..? :eek:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
